Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park in collaboration with The Rappahannock Valley Garden Club, Gari Melcher’s Home and Studio at Belmont, and The Olmsted Center for Landscape Preservation, is offering a one day workshop on historic boxwood maintenance, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, on March 11, 2014.
Classroom sessions and field demonstrations on topics related to the care of historic boxwood will include: variety identification and selection; planting techniques; and, pruning of aged boxwood presented by guest instructor Dean Norton, Director of Horticulture, George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens.
Participation in the course is available at no cost. Box lunches will be provided at $10 (process for submitting payment will be provided after registration is confirmed). Space is limited.
