Association for Preservation Technology International in conjunction with the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training and the APT Hawaii-Pacific Islands Chapter announce a workshop on Nondestructive Evaluation Methods for Historic Structures to be held at Bishop Museum, Atherton H?lau, 1525 Bernice Street, Honolulu, Hawai‘i 96817
The “hands-on” workshop will address concepts, theories & application of NDE methods, including:
- Planning an investigation
- Using NDE methods for evaluating historic wood, concrete & masonry construction
- Demonstration of diagnostic test methods such as structural monitoring, moisture measurements, microwave radar, infrared thermography, in situ masonry testing, resistance drilling of timber & digital radioscopy
This workshop targets intermediate to advanced level preservation professionals, including engineers, architects, material conservators and craftspeople.
