US ICOMOS interns Ina Sthapit and Sukrit Sen based on NCPTT (National Center for Preservation Technology & Training), Louisiana laser scanned 3 more cabins (one Cook’s cabin and two Sharecroppers’) in Magnolia Plantation in Derry along the Cane River. Magnolia is one of the 2 plantations in the Cane River Creole NP. One of the cabins was engulfed with vegetation, and not much of the elevation was visible. So, they used checkerboards as registration targets. These targets help to tie points for registering multiple point clouds and put together several scans perfectly – with Sukrit Sen.
