Robert Melnick at the University of Oregon will use a 2015 PTT Grant to build on previous work on response to climate change and National Park Service Units.  He will develop and refine a preliminary manual for response to climate change impacts, focusing on the variety and range of cultural landscapes in the western United States. This work adds to, and refines, the previously developed ‘decision tree’ for policy and management responses that can be employed to mitigate these impacts, as appropriate to local cultural landscape circumstances and issues, as well as natural systems.
