THE Timber Framers Guild training curriculum is the fruit of years of an organized effort by Will Beemer and members of the Apprenticeship Training Committee to provide an educational structure for future generations of American timber framers. The curriculum trains skilled timber framers by placing apprentices at timber framing businesses under the mentorship of qualified framers called journeyworkers. The Guild registers apprentices, certifies journeyworkers and provides additional learning opportunities and required technical instruction.
Apprentices work for pay, with incremental wage increases as they become more proficient. On-the-job learning and training by the assigned mentor are augmented by Guild technical training elsewhere and distance learning. Successful apprentices receive a nationally recognized credential registered by the United States Department of Labor under our program number NO152090893.
