Preservation Institute: Nantucket (PIN) is an interdisciplinary program that exposes participants to the theories and methodologies of international cultural heritage conservation and the research, documentation, and management of current and potential World Heritage sites. Nantucket and its historic and natural environments serve as a learning laboratory. After 41 years of working with local partners to document and preserve the island’s built environment, the University of Florida and PIN provide an important leadership role in the community by developing effective strategies for documenting and interpreting the cultural and natural resources of Nantucket. PIN continues to provide research and documentation for the inclusion of Nantucket on the World Heritage List.
