Unit III: Preservation Maintenance Practice

This unit will develop participants’ skills in cultural landscape preservation maintenance techniques.  The topics covered in this section will focus on the field implementation of preservation actions.  Upon completion of this unit, participants will have an understanding of: using resource sensitive techniques to minimize disturbance and loss of resources; applying preservation techniques of stabilization and protection to halt deterioration; repairing damage and improving resource condition; replacing deteriorated features; and using extraordinary measures to save valuable resources.
