A Graveyard Preservation Primer by Lynn Strangstad. This book covers the
entire spectrum and includes surveying a cemetery to determine what most needs to
be repaired or restored, preparing a plan for a restoration project, documenting
data from and about the stones, cleaning, repairing and resetting stones.

I am trying to find the completed report that Jason Church did on the
Headstone Cleaning in National Cemeteries. (after Jan 2010)
What is the “final result” with the 3 products in the running: D2, Daybreak, & marble cleaner?
PLEASE can someone help me with this?
I am in a Cemetery group that cleans, repairs & levels headstones and we
would very much like to know which is the best cleaner. We have been using
D2 and found it very effective. However, we are interested in the results of
Jason Church’s study to know if this is the best product to use.
I would appreciate an answer.

To the best of my knowledge, the final report has not been released for publication. I’ve forwarded your request to Mary Striegel and Jason Church who can give you more detail on this project and maybe able to address the release date.
I, too, would like to know the final outcome of the 2007 report regarding the study of D/2, Daybreak, & Marble Cleaner. My husband and I recently completed two “gravestone conservation” workshops presented in the State of Maine. One of those workshops was sponsored by AGS, and the other by a person who is also a member of the Board of Trustees for AGS. In both workshops, the leaders recommended the use of D/2. We would like to know which “cleaner” has been determined by NCPTT to be the safest for use on gravestones
