In 1997, NCPTT supported Goucher College in a research project that evaluated the effectiveness of an online historic preservation training program.  The target audience for the tested program was historic preservation commission members.

Training

All participants completed extensive evaluations comparing the online classroom educational experience to that of traditional classroom based training.  Overall the students, monitors, and tutors thought that online training of members of historic preservation commissions had great potential once technical problems were solved and more people became comfortable with this method of training.”  For more details on the study, see the final report  available through the above download.
