Summer interns Sarah Hunter and Stephanie Byrd assist Bob Adams in applying limewash.

NCPTT held a workshop for members of the Mississippi State Historic Preservation Office on June 25th and 26th.  Mingo Tingle, Chief of Technical Preservation Services at Mississippi Department of Archives and History, requested the workshop in preparation for an upcoming project at the Windsor Ruins.

The workshop included a review of the history of limewash, NCPTT’s Study on the Durability of Traditional and Modified Limewash, preparation and application of limewash. Also included was a hands on demonstration on at American Cemetery on one of the historic box vaults.
