Based on Heritage Preservation’s Emergency Response & Salvage Wheel, a well-respected cultural heritage protection tool, the Emergency Response and Salvage app outlines critical stages of disaster response, such as stabilizing the environment and assessing damage.

It also provides practical salvage tips for nine types of collections:

photographs, books and documents, paintings, electronic records, textiles, furniture, ceramics/stone/metal, organic materials, and natural history specimens.

This app will help users protect precious collections and significant records, access reliable information instantly, and save damaged objects.

This app has good, basic information. Could you add a form that lets an institution’s staff download their institutional contact procedures and telephone numbers? The download aspect is important; it centralizes the most current information and simplifies staying up to date. Thank you for considering this request.

App is useful but UI need to make more bright, looking dull.

    • Thank you for the suggestion. I am preparing a major UI revision of this app for release in March of 2014. It will be native to iPhone/iPod Touch (3.5″ and 4″ screens) and iPad with retina support. This update will be in English and Spanish. We are planning a French version this year and may support additional language as resources permit.
